Welcome to the official site of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mahe which is in the sylvan surroundings, one more feather to the Kendriya Vidyalaya family. Mahe is a tiny point in the geographical map of Kerala, located 647 kms away from UT Puducherry. In this former small French town covers an area of 9 sq.kms, over 36000 inhabitants live in peace. This petit French town is situated on the west cost of the Indian peninsula between Badagara and Thalassery in Kerala state and is a busy trade centre. The Vidyalaya was established during the current academic year 2008, ie on 1.3.08 as a civil sector school. The school started functioning on 9.7.08 for classes I to V with one section and added Class VI during the current academic year 2009-‘10. At present the school is functioning in a temporary rented building sponsored by the Mahe Administration. The Sponsoring Authority has earmarked 4 acres of land to the Vidyalaya and the acquisition of land from the private parties is under progress. The building consists of 8 rooms. Apart from those 8 rooms, The Principal’s office, staffroom and store room are functioning in an another building which is very close to the school building. At Present, there are no laboratories, computer lab and facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The Vidyalaya offers library with 350 books including reference section. The Vidyalaya has 278 students and 14 staff on roll including 01 contractual teacher. The instruction is imparted through the medium of English and Hindi, which will help the students to achieve a reasonable proficiency in both the languages. The fore most aim of the staff is to strengthen the new Vidyalaya as per the expectation of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and enable the students of the Vidyalaya to mould themselves into great citizens and personalities in their respective fields of interest.
